It's not that it's inappropriate to sell things here, but we usually prefer that that's not all a person does here, and that it's not done on the first post. We like having some sort of relationship with the person first.
Check out Rule #6--"Occasional selling of American Girl items is allowed, but if that is all you want to do, please do not use the board. The Society is not legally responsible for any transactions resulting from the use of the board. Posts announcing items for sale or trade will be subject to removal after 1 month."
You're welcome to leave your list posted. And please feel free to stick around and do some other things too, ok?

I should have read about your board better before posting! To be honest, the reason my daughter is selling her collection is because she was saddened by AG's new partnership with Girl's Inc. She asked to sell her collection and donate part of the proceeds to our church. I respected her decision and told her I would help her to sell.
She did enjoy playing with her collection - Samantha, Josephina, Kit, and an AG Today doll. She mainly just had them on display though and occasionally changed their clothes and brushed their hair. She read the books and collected art supplies and ornaments. She also enjoyed her AG Mini room.
This last year though, she said she was not that interested anymore and wanted to store them away. I intended to save them for her as she got older. However, when she made this decision, as I said I respected it and am now helping her to sell. Since I won't be a part of this board in discussions, I don't feel like I have used it appropriately. I would be happy to remove my post as I said earlier, I am just not board savvy and don't know how!!
Thank you for your comments!

I sent you a PM.
Faith--thanks for vouching for her. That helps. I agree that most (including me) would rather buy from someone who has a presence on the board who I "know" but having someone vouch for her helps.
Welcome to the board. I personally am glad you posted here instead of ebay, but I understand the intent of the rule as well.
